LONG DESCRIPTION

PUBLIC is a site-specific hybrid performance work that interrogates the notion of public space and explores the often unspoken boundaries between public and private.

In a busy public domain, audience equipped with wireless headphones, listen to a multidimensional sound design that heightens, informs and frames their immediate surroundings.

As they move freely throughout the space, perceived borders between audience, performers and the public are destabilised. Gently and incrementally, PUBLIC reconfigures the public space, and the people within it.

MEDIA

PUBLIC explores the porous borders between public and private behaviour, and is the most sophisticated, not to mention enjoyable, work I’ve seen in this vein since Back to Back’s Small Metal Objects.’ Cameron Woodhead, The Age
